Wran at campaign office opening
Former NSW Premier Neville Wran was the special guest at the official opening of the campaign office of Labor candidate for Robertson, Trish Moran, last Friday.
Ms Moran said that she considered it an honour that Mr Wran offered his time to officiate at the opening of her information office.
"I am delighted at having such a distinguished figure as Mr Wran officially opening my office," Ms Moran said.
"Neville Wran is both a Labor icon and one of the States most eminent political statesmen."
"His record speaks for itself.
"Mr Wran served as NSW Premier from 1976 until retiring undefeated in 1986, a record term for a State Labor leader."
Ms Moran said she had established her campaign office in Woy Woy because "Woy Woy is Labor's heartland and the hub of the electorate".
"It is very central and just as close to Kincumber as it is to Gosford.
"It has the railway, other transport, post office, banks and everything else that we could need.
"Many of our volunteers live in the area and we needed to be handy for them."
Robertson had about 83,000 voters of which 16500 were pensioners over 65, many of whom lived on the Peninsula, said Ms Moran.
"The Peninsula is good for older people because it is flat, safe, has a local hospital and good transport facilities.
The information office is located at 23 Blackwall Rd, Woy Woy, and it is open to the public between 9am and 5pm.
"The people of Robertson will be able to visit my office at Woy Woy and ask me questions, as well as find out about Kim Beazley and Labors plans for Australia," Ms Moran said.
"If people cant make it to the office, they could ring 4344 1511 and speak to one of the volunteers staffing it."
