Surf club holds presentation night

Chris Lavers and Helen Heber have received "club person of the year" awards at the recent Umina Surf Life Saving Club presentation night.

Chris Lavers is responsible for the management and co-ordination of junior activities, co-ordination of State junior championships, branch carnivals and mini carnivals with neighbouring clubs.

Helen Heber is responsible for the management and co-ordination of the Master’s activities, co-ordination of the Master’s state and national team, and planning and co-ordination of the ocean swim.

Karen Paull has been awarded patron person of the year.

Karen has given an overwhelming number of patron hours and a high number of non-rostered voluntary hours.

Karen was involved in the co-ordination of emergency procedures on patrol and has also given an outstanding amount of water safety hours.

Gary Harding was awarded U18 person of the year.

Gary has shown great dedication to patrol duties and inflatable rescue boat driving.

He was also valued for his assistance at all examinations, his voluntary assistance with junior members and general assistance and help throughout the club.

The Umina Surf Life Saving Club new executive for the upcoming season is: president Brian Paull, secretary Phil Harding, treasurer Brian Jackson, club captain Bernie Parmeter, vice president Danny Cunningham.
