Vocal group hosted at Woy Woy

Armed with cameras and video recorder, Close Harmony Friends acappella vocal group members, Feri Vlasak and his wife Zuzana, were at Woy Woy to photograph the pelicans recently.

Feri and Zuzanna were home hosted in Umina by Friendship Force Central Coast members (FFCC), John and Carol Farthing.

Other FFCC members from the Peninsula, who hosted and assisted with the organisation of the visit by the performers, included Ann Thomson, Russ and Carol Hadley and Shirley and Don Crease.

The Close Harmony Friends are from Gosford's sister city of Nitra, Slovakia.

The group's excellent performance in front of a large audience at the Laycock Street Theatre received two standing ovations.

The Ambassador of Slovak Republic, Dr Anna Turenicova, was in attendance.

During a break in the performance, Feri, on behalf of the group, thanked their hosts and the sister city organisers as well as everyone they met, for the warmth and hospitality shown during their visit.

FFCC members will visit Nitra in May as part of the sister city program.

They will take with them, as a gift from Hospital Art Inc. based on the Central Coast, a six-panel canvas of Australian native birds.

This brightly coloured artwork will be presented to a hospital in Nitra.
