Baby club celebrates 10 years

A party that will feature children's entertainers The Flower Pot Gang, the NSW fire brigade and commercial product characters will be held at the Everglades Country Club on March 18.

The party will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Pitter Patter Baby Club at Umina Mall Pharmacy.

The party will be open to current and former members of the club and may be attended by invitation only

The "Flower Pot Gang" will stage a professional musical show to entertain children.

Inspector Burnie Cinders and Captain Vince Wiegold from the NSW fire brigade will perform the "Stop, Drop and Roll" show.

Other characters appearing will be Tommee Tippee Bear and the Ribena Berry.

Children will receive a free helium balloon, fairy bread, lollies and birthday cake.

Many company representatives will be on hand to give mothers information on products.

Some will be taste-testing products and free samples will be available.

The baby club has been well supported by these companies over the years and they would like to thank members for their support.

All current members will receive a personal invitation by mail.

Former members will need to obtain their invitation from Umina Mall Pharmacy to gain entry on the day.

Umina Mall Pharmacy owner Mr Ross Pearse said that 10 years ago he could see the Peninsula changing.

The changes heralded "many young families moving into the area, husbands commuting to Sydney for work and away for long hours, leaving young mothers with new babies often with no family back-up feeling very isolated."

Ross with the help of Anne Crain, the "baby coordinator", decided to help fill this need and so the Pitter Patter Baby Club was formed.

As well as attending to the mums and the babies on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, Anne also organises special events during the year such as birthday parties, Easter picnics, information mornings with guest speakers, professional photo shoots, and a Christmas party with Santa photos.

For more information about this event or how to join the Pitter Patter Baby, club contact Anne at Umina Mall Pharmacy, Ocean Beach Rd, Umina, or telephone 4341 6906.
