Chess area covered
The children of St John the Baptist have come back to school to find their Chess Area covered by several sun sails.
The sails were donated by the Parents and Friends Committee and the Catholic Schools Office of the Broken Bay Diocess at a total cost of $11,000.
The sails allow the children to play chess in the comfort of the shade in the heat of the day.
The chess area was built by the Parents and Friends Association last year.
Chess is a popular game amongst the school community and is seen by the school to provide the benefits of problem solving, sportsmanship and lateral thought.
