Money raised for Canberra victims
An appeal to support victims of the recent Canberra fires has raised $596 in Woy Woy.
The money was raised through McDonalds Woy Woy.
"The recent bushfires were some of the worst in Australian history," said Mr John Ursino owner-operator of McDonalds Woy Woy.
"As soon as the ACT fires hit, McDonalds decided they wanted to help in any way they could and joined with The Salvation Army to launch this appeal," said John.
"It is comforting to know that Australians everywhere are willing to support the cause to help those who have been affected by this tragedy."
The fundraising drive was established as a joint initiative between McDonalds and The Salvation Army and reflects the generosity of the Central Coast Community.
The money was distributed to victims to help with temporary accommodation, clothing, food and set-up expenses.
