Corporations monopolise national days

Corporations Rule the World is the title of David C Korten's informative book.

Corporations like Coca Cola set the rules and Australian governments at all levels do their bidding.

Evidence of this can be seen on days of significance to Australians such as Memorial Day and Australia Day.

No Australian flag fluttered over the Woy Woy War Memorial swimming pool on Memorial Day but many Coca Cola logos were on display including on the backs of council staff employed to work there.

On Australia Day, no Australian flag was visible at the swimming pool or on the surf clubs at Ocean Beach or Umina but the logos of several foreign owned companies were there for all to see.

Perhaps Gosford Council should consider whether Cr Chris Holstein is sufficiently patriotic to chair the Australia Day committee or represent Peats in State parliament.
