Mini fete on election day

Ettalong Public School will hold a mini fete on election day, tempting voters with the irresistible smell of sausages and onions on the barbecue, as well as fresh cakes and fairy floss.

Spring garden bulbs will also be for sale at discounted prices with orders taken on the day and delivery two weeks later.

There will be a variety of other stalls.

All funds raised on the day will go toward the cost of air-conditioning for classrooms and the library at the school.

Plans are now well under way for the 75th Anniversary Celebrations for Ettalong Public School.

Activities will include a street parade through Ettalong on Friday, June 6, followed by a fun day at Ettalong oval for the students and teachers.

Activities on Saturday, June 7, will include digging up a time capsule buried for the 60th birthday celebrations and burying a new one to be made up by school community members.

There will be lots of memorabilia on display at the school and a fair-like atmosphere with lots of stalls, Devonshire tea, buskers and street theatre performed by the students.

There will be a function on the Saturday evening for ex-students and teachers to catch up on old times.

Anyone with ideas for the festivities or something to contribute to the memorabilia should contact the school on 4341 3550
