No bicycle ban for Patonga

Gosford Council will not be putting bicycle prohibition signs outside Patonga shops despite a request from the manager of the cafe.

The council traffic committee considered a request through the Mayor.

It decided that the problem on footpath at Patonga shops was not significant enough to warrant prohibiting children under 12 years of age riding on the footpath.

The committee minutes stated that a major part of the problem was the number of bicycles left lying across the footpath, which would not be addressed by the installation of this type of signage.
