Hardys Bay silt concern

Gosford Council has received a petition from 10 residents of Hardys Bay expressing their concern about the build-up silt in the bay.

They said it was a considerable load of silt, much of it road base metal, that had been carried down from the residential developments that had taken place on Killcare Tops.

The petitioners claim that the build up of silt in the Mudflat Creek corner of Hardys Bay has been to such an extent that considerable change has taken place to tidal flows and channels.

The petitioners state that many properties are now diminished by increased floodproneness and have experienced a mosquito build up brought on by the stagnant nature of Mud Flat Creek.

The petitioners request council to meet with them and undertake a site inspection of this area and seek council's intervention to solve this problem.
