Desire to see post office open

Woy Woy resident Ms Helge Fraser would like to see the post office in Woy Woy open on a Saturday morning.

She raised her concerns with the Member for Robertson Mr Jim Lloyd last year.

Ms Fraser said: "Woy Woy is very busy on Saturdays and the Post Office would complement the other businesses that are open.

"If they can open the Post Office during the Christmas period on Saturday, why not open every Saturday?"

She also said: "The staff are very busy throughout the week with long queues. They are so helpful."

She said she believed that this patronage throughout the week should give weight to Saturday trading."

Mr Jim Lloyd's assistant, Ms Rana Gidley-King, said: "It would be a good idea to open the post office at Woy Woy as it would allow people to post letters and pay bills, which would benefit people who worked through the week.

"The petition Ms Fraser gave to Mr Jim Lloyd was tabled in Parliament on November 11 last year."

Ms Fraser said: "Someone younger than me should take on my campaign and lobby the Federal Member for Robertson to look into the issue again."
