Peter Moore

Gosford solicitor Peter Moore has announced that he will be standing as an Independent for the seat of Peats at the State election in March 2003.

Mr Moore, a former Alderman on Gosford Council, is a long-term resident of the Peats electorate and currently lives in Woy Woy Bay.

"People in the electorate of Peats know that there is little or no difference between the policies of the Labor and Liberal parties," Mr Moore said.

"Both parties represent the interests of big business and what people are looking for is someone who will stand up to the government of the day and fight for the issues that affect Peats.

"I am prepared to do that."

Mr Moore said that his campaign would be based on putting the people in the seat of Peats first.

"I have never belonged to a political party and in no way will I have to follow the party line in fighting for what matters to the electorate.

"The Labor Party, which has represented this seat for so many years, is no longer the party of the ordinary Australian and, in essence, it has taken this seat for granted.

"In the period leading up to the election on March 22, I will be putting forward policies and proposals which will give the people of Peats a real choice," Mr Moore said.

Mr. Moore has been a Rotarian for 13 years and is a past President of the Rotary Club of Gosford North.

In addition, he has been a Red Cross Telecross Volunteer for 10 years.

Mr Moore said that his campaign will show that he is a person who cares.

"I welcome any enquiries the people of Peats may wish to make," Mr. Moore.

His toll-free number is 1800 050 190.
