School plans 75th anniversary
Ettalong Public School has started to plan its 75th Anniversary celebrations to be held in June.
A special 75th Anniversary school calendar is on sale through the school and a committee has begun planning events for the big day.
Anyone who has old photos or letters is invited to contact the school.
Past students and teachers who would like to be involved in organizing the celebrations will also be welcome.
The school has welcomed new staff members - Karen Morrow as extra deputy principal and Rachel Andrew who will be teaching 2/3A.
Kindergarten students all arrived at school last Monday and Tuesday, while P&C members served tea and coffee to help settle their parents' nerves.
Parent-teacher talks began last week so that parents had an early opportunity to tell teachers about the needs of their child, and to help establish a good home-school partnership that is so important to a student's development.
Ettalong School is hoping to establish a school band this year and to increase opportunities for students in the performing arts.
This will be discussed at the first P&C meeting of the year, which will also be the AGM and will be held on Wednesday, February 18, from 9 to 10.30am.
Anyone wanting more information about anything happening at the school can contact the office on 4341 3550.
