Touch footy for youth week

Students from Woy Woy High School joined in a touch football competition organised by Gosford Council and local police to celebrate Youth Week.

The students braved pouring rain to join in social games of touch against the police, council workers, ambos, the fire brigade and other school students aged 12-25 years.

The school's students led with distinction, offering to help referee games when a few referees could not cope with the conditions.

Others acted as role models and joined with, and organised, other teams of younger students.

Students involved included Lorrie Russell, Dean Simonson, Ben Crowson, Holly Johnstone, Kirraleigh Barrett, Alison Wheatland, Matt Lester, Kieran McLenerhan, Emily Johnstone, Lauren Samsley, Heidi Robertson, Jie Hewson, Nathan Anderson, Kate Bloor, Leanne Brown, Susan Sobczak, Megan Towner, Glen Davis, Billy Walker.

Emily Johnstone who was selected in the Met North Under-15 Girls Touchball Team.

She will travel to Mudgee this month with the team to play against all other regions in the state.
