Joan Wulff dies

Joan Wulff of Woy Woy Bay died on Tuesday, May 1, having been ill for some time and in hospital for a week or so.

Joan was a popular member of Everglades, known and loved by golfers and bowlers alike.

She and her husband Noel originally had a holiday home at Woy Woy Bay and they made that their permanent home following their retirement to the Central Coast from Sydney.

Noel will be remembered by many members as the smiling face welcoming them at the door of Everglades and by others as being involved with Everglades at board level for a number of years before his death.

Joan was a member of Carnarvon Golf Club before joining Everglades where she was actively involved with women’s golf for many years, commencing with her election to the Everglades Women’s Golf Committee in 1978.

She was vice-president from 1979 to 1983, and again in 1985.

In 1986, Joan was elected president and remained in that position until the end of 1991.

She was a Grade 1 Pennant player for many years and continued to play golf until her health began to deteriorate over the last couple of years.

Even in poor health, she continued to make an appearance at the club, immaculately and fashionably attired, to catch up with her friends and share a few laughs.

She will be sadly missed.

Sympathy has been extended to her only daughter Judith, and to her many friends on the loss of a very special lady.
