Certificate for stories
Pretty Beach Public School has received a "certificate of excellence" for outstanding student achievement in a short story competition run by the Australian Publishing Group.
From among the 8500 entries, 15 students from the school were chosen as finalists.
According to the letter accompanying the certificate, "only a small percentage of schools have attained this level of achievement".
School principal Jill Godwin congratulated all Pretty Beach students who entered the competition.
The winner will be announced on May 21.
Success in this competition follows last years competition wins.
Harrison Gardner from Year 6 was a regional winner in the Nestle Around Australia Writing Competition and a group of Year 4 students won the Nelson Publication Book Review Competition.
