New production at Little Theatre

Woy Woy Little Theatre will presents "The Anniversary" by Bill Macilwraith later this month and in early June.

The show will be performed at 8pm on May 25 and 26, June 1, 2, 8 and 9.

Matinee performances will be given at 2pm on May 27, June 3 and 9.

Cast cast for the show is Fran Kendall, Cathy Stone, Anishka Oska, Peter Santangelo, Peter Howes and Glenn Hamilton.

The play is a black comedy about motherhood and "those who fall under its spell".

"Dear old mum's possessiveness is a killer," according the theatre's publicity.

"She is thoroughly evil and glories in destroying anything that is good and kind and pure, and for not being able to enjoy such feeling herself she is damned if anyone else will.

"And yet, like the Devil, Mum has an undeniable charm.

"This woman would never have been drowned as a witch.

"She would have been crowned a Queen.

"She has three sons whom she has lacerated with her warped love, and it says something for man's resilience that they are as normal as they are.

"What are the consequences when her dominance is challenged by outsiders competing for her sons' affection and loyalty?"

Tickets are $15 adults, $12 concession and $5 child under-16, with group discounts for 10 or more people.

Bookings may be made at Olympic General Store, Blackwall Rd, Woy Woy, or by phone on 4341 4067.
