Council receives petitions

Gosford Council has received a petition opposed the positioning of a Vodaphone tower in the middle of Patonga.

The petition had 39 signatures of Patonga residents.

Other petitions received by Council included a petition with seven signatures from residents of Killcare, requesting the closure of through road traffic in an unnamed laneway.

The petitioners said the laneway which ran from Beach Drive through to Putty Beach Dr, Killcare, attracted hoodlum behaviour, including driving at excess speeds.

They further stated this type of driving created dust on the short unsealed laneway.

If the laneway were closed, the petitioners said it would eliminate the high volume of traffic in the laneway and it would allow children a safe route to their bus stop.

Council also received a petition with 21 signatures from Member for Peats Marie Andrews, on behalf of residents of Farnell Rd, Woy Woy.

The petitioners requested council install kerb and guttering and a pathway in the street.

They stated the streets surrounding theirs have these facilities in place and cars are parked in Farnell Rd, waiting to pick up children from Woy Woy High School.

They also stated the road holds water after rain.
