Bridal shop opens

Kel-Leigh Couture is a new bridal shop that has opened in Woy Woy.

For the past 12 months, the shop’s proprietor Kelly Hillhouse has worked from a studio in her own home.

Her husband decked their garage out into what turned out to be a prosperous business.

Kelly said she has always wanted to work from home but changed her mind after her success during the businesses first year of operation.

She said: "With my type of product you need exposure, I wanted a shop where people would drive past and say, I have to go in that shop and have a look."

Kelly said that, when she spotted the shop for lease on Blackwall Rd, she grabbed the opportunity because the shop was just what she wanted.

Kel-Leigh Couture specialises in bridal wear, bridesmaid dressers and evening wear.

Also available from the shop were accessories, including jewellery, Bon Bon Lere, trinkets, tiaras, veils, bags and hoop hire.

In the future, Kelly would like to stock bridal shoes and lingerie, which would make her store a one-stop bridal shop.

She said the most important thing in her business was customer service.

"You get the same level of customer service in my shop whether you’re buying a dress, getting alterations or just browsing."

Kel-Leigh Couture is located in Shop 5 on St John’s Corner, Blackwall Rd, Woy Woy.
