Success at golf gala day

Hien McManus of Everglades Country Club had golfing success at a golf gala day held on April 22 when she swung and received an eagle on the fifth hole.

"This was the highlight in a really great round of golf for Hien, she went on to win the Women’s 2B and share the win in the Mixed 2B," said Judy Andrews, publicity officer for women's golf at the Everglades.

"She is now playing off a handicap of eight.

The club's "trading table" was held on Thursday, April 26.

"Despite fewer golfers on the day, the takings from the trading table were good with $820 being raised," she said.

She said the table was patronised by the gala day audience as well as the women bowlers.

Ms Andrews thanked those who donated goods for sale and the women golfers who helped organise the day.
