Soccer club draws 420 players

The Southern and Ettalong United Soccer Club has announced it has more than 420 registered players, an increase in numbers from last year.

The club has teams from under-5s through to under-16s in the junior ranks, under-14s and 16s girls sides, All Age Ladies side, All Age teams 1, 4 and 5, over-35 men’s side as well as First and Reserve Grade sides.

All are welcome to come along on every "fine" Saturday to James Browne Oval, in Alpha Rd, Woy Woy, to watch our juniors play and have something tasty to eat and a cool drink from the club's canteen.

Some Saturdays the club's "All Stars" over-35’s play at home.

On alternate Sundays, the senior men sides play at home.

The club's girls and Ladies sides play all over the Coast at various ovals and Fagan’s Park on Sundays.

As with all amateur sporting clubs, it is necessary to raise funds for sporting equipment, training gear, hiring of fields, maintenance of amenities and trophies.

Funds are raised through canteen sales, social events and raffles and through the assistance of our sponsors.

For the second year, Woy Woy Leagues Club has pledged its support as the club's major sponsor.

The Southern and Ettalong United Club aims to promote the sport of soccer, sportsmanship, fitness, family values and team participation.

The various committees of the club run all aspects of the club from soccer to social.

Senior and junior functions are organised throughout the season with the culmination of the junior and senior presentation festivities towards the end of the year.
