Dogs favoured in Pearl Beach
Recently a detailed and exhaustive census was taken of all households at Pearl Beach in response to Gosford Council's proposed changes to beach access for dogs.
Council has already received many copies of this very large and meticulously laid out document.
Overwhelming support was indicated in this census by some 77% of residents in favour of allowing dogs on Pearl Beach.
Some streets polled as high as 95%, a truly remarkable vote for support.
Also council has been sent a letter from the Pearl Beach Progress Association (PBPA) with whom so many people place much faith, which clearly states that it does not want to eliminate dogs from Pearl Beach by way of maintaining and improving the existing policy.
This is clearly overwhelming support from the broader Pearl Beach community which must not be ignored.
Given council's recent consideration of adding more beach exercise areas to its proposed new controversial policy, I ask the council to hear the geographically isolated community and include Pearl Beach immediately.
