Cruelty to animals
People accuse the Prime Minister, Mr Howard, perhaps in jest, of trying to take us back to the glorious 1950s.
But in regard to cruelty to animals, we seem to be heading back to the 19th century, going by recent incidents.
Callous and cruel treatment of dogs at Gosford Pound, the machine-gunning of wild horses in a National Park and the torture of Rusa Deer in crammed cages by Qantas.
Perhaps it's just another symptom of the global greed policy worshipped by our politicians.
