Kristin receives award

Woy Woy's Kristin Scholes has received a gold Duke of Edinburgh award.

For the award, Kristin undertook community service activities, as well as a challenging expedition, sport and other activities.

She gave more than 60 hours of community service in youth work.

Kristin was voluntary camp leader on a bushwalking expedition near the Jenolan Caves.

For sport, she participated in triathlon.

Kristin will receive her award from NSW Governor, Gordon Samuels, at a presentation at Government House.

The awards are open to young people between the ages of 14 and 25. Almost 6500 young people started the award this year.
