Plan for pontoons
Gosford Council has adopted a development control plan (DCP) for pontoons on St Huberts Island.
The DCP was put on public exhibition and attracted four submissions containing objections and concerns.
Council's director of development and the environment, Mr John Murray, said the pontoons provided berthing facilities for boats within the canals of the island.
The DCP aimed to restrict pontoon use to retain visual amenity and to avoid concentrations of vessels in the canals.
He said owners of unauthorised pontoons would need to lodge a development application by January 1 or the pontoons would be removed.
