Support here for domestic violence
The Central Coast Area Health Service is publicising support available for those at risk of domestic violence on the Peninsula.
For those in immediate danger, Woy Woy Police can be contacted on 4341 9122.
To gain an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO), sufferers of domestic violence can call the Chamber Magistrate at Woy Woy Court House on 4341 1450 between the hours of 9.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm.
The domestic violence court assistance scheme offers discussion about AVOs, consultation before an appearance in court, information about other support services and advocacy. It can be contacted on 4325 6941 or 0408 256 941.
Where domestic violence includes withholding money, financial or welfare assistance can be sought from St Vincent de Paul, telephone 4344 3261, and The Salvation Army, 4343 1965.
Accommodation for young people is available at Woy Woy Youth Cottage, a 24-hour telephone service on 4341 9027.
Gosford-based services are available that complement the Peninsula services.
