Umina Cricket struggles

After three rounds, the Umina Cricket Club is struggling at the lower end of the club championship.

Only Fourth Grade is undefeated, Sixth Grade has won two out of three, while Firsts, Thirds and Fifths have registered one win, and the one-day side has won three of six games.

Seconds is the only team yet to open their account.

Warwick Botfield and Scott Brown from First Grade have been selected in the Gosford Wyong District Train-On Squad.

There have been a few individual performances worth noting:

1st Grade: Craig Brown 87 not out vs Mountains, Jamie Doran 5/34 vs Gosford, Scott Brown 57 vs Mountains.

2nd Grade: Glenn Dillon 74 vs Gosford, 58 vs Mountains, Andy Lerway 49 & 54 vs Gosford.

3rd Grade: Craig Ferguson 66 vs Gosford.

4th Grade: Steve Collins 116 vs Gosford (out of 196), Kris Capewell 84 vs Narara, Gavin Hewitt 74 vs Mountains.

5th Grade: Corey Mander 5/47 vs Lisarow, Gary Harding 5/27 vs The Entrance, Mick Summers 74 vs Lisarow.

6th Grade: Steve Cattley 5/16 vs Narara, Steven Gregg 108 vs The Entrance, Mick Bourke 78 n.o vs The Entrance, Paul Griffiths 5/24 vs The Entrance.

One-day Side: Ian Holmes 64 vs Toukley, 102 vs Wyong, 87, 64 vs Toukley

Some social functions coming up are a Trivia Night on December 1 at the clubhouse from 7pm with a $5 entry fee, and the eight-a-side day on January 7.
