German certificates won

Woy Woy High German students have been recognised in the Beginners Level German Certificate of the Australian Languages Certificate Competition held recently.

The competition covers Australia and New Zealand.

In the reading section of the competition, five students received a distinction, placing them in the top 10 per cent of participants.

The remaining six students all received an honourable credit.

In the listening section, seven students received a distinction and one a participation award.

Principal, Ms Carolyn Carter, said: "The listening skills results are particularly outstanding as 63 per cent of our students gained a distinction, compared to only 35 per cent of students in the overall competition.

Students who competed were Stacey Curtis, Rebecca Haynes, Jessica Allen, Dean Dedich, Sarah Low, Blake Howard, Matthew Schwass, Kate Durbin, Matthew Lester, Ashlee Scott and Brendan Loogman.
