Fireworks donations collected

Planning for the Peninsula's New Year Fireworks continues with the Rotary Club of Umina Beach collecting donations and sponsorship.

East's Ocean Beach Holiday Park is donating the fireworks, which will be supplied by Sydney Harbour veterans Howard and Sons.

The event will run between 6pm and 10pm, the early firework display aimed at encouraging families to enjoy the fun together.

Held at the Umina park, the evening will also have amusements rides, show bags, Ferris wheels, merry-go-rounds, Mini Jeeps, Ponies, Youth Bands and displays from local groups.

Food will be provided by Ocean Beach Surf Club.

Entry is by gold coin donation at the gate.

As well as East's Ocean Beach Holiday Park, sponsors include Woy Woy Leagues Club, Gosford City Council and Ledingham Events.

Donations have come from Umina Bakehouse, Mary's Top Nosh Eatery, Empire Bay Hairdressers, Discount Base Umina, Civic Video Umina, Jodie's of Umina, South Street Fruit Market, McDonalds Woy Woy, Video Ezy Wov Woy and J and B Meats.

Stall holders, buskers, entertainers and bands are still wanted.

For details, contact Mrs Emma Ledingham on 4369 1008 or PO Box 5080, Empire Bay, or ledinghamevents@optusnet.com.au

All proceeds from the event go to Peninsula groups and youth organisations and are distributed through the Rotary Club.
