Graham wins bowls singles

The Woy Woy Bowling Club's singles championship finished with a win to Graham Kenney, who won the final 31-17 over Jamie Noonan.

It seems winning has become contagious for Graham, who has won the Championship twice in a row.

The triples championship also finished with the team of Ray Farleigh, Tom Payne and Neale Jesperson beating Ray Duignan, Jim Rochester and Lionel Ackling 25-17.

Woy Woy's best performing team, grade 4, lost to Umina in a very close final 49-48.

To round off the Peninsula flavour of the event, the match was played on the Ettalong greens with a large crowd in attendance.

Upcoming events at the Woy Woy Club include the men's mufti jackpot bowls on Wednesdays and Sundays at 9am. Members and visitors are welcome.

Mixed mufti bowlers compete every Sunday afternoon at 12.45, and the day includes a sausage sizzle.

The Peninsula's first synthetic green at Woy Woy is also coming along nicely and should be ready to use next month.
