Application with licensing court

I refer to the item headed "Proposed bottleshop proprietor joins objectors" by your Mr Carl Spears (April 2000).

On behalf of the many objectors to Mr Ian Thomas' application for an "Off-Licence (Retail)" for the Booker Bay store, readers may be interested to know it is not the Gosford Council who decide on the granting of a Liquor Licence.

This is in fact a matter -now before the Liquor Licensing Court of NSW.

Gosford Council has no further interest in this application.

There have been well in excess of 83 objections made to Council now directed to the Licensing Court of NSW.

For persons wishing to add their objection or seek clarification of the number and significance of objections received, perhaps they could contact the court on 9995 0762.

On the subject of Marina customers wishing to purchase alcohol, there is a public wharf at Ettalong and a bus service available for those who cannot walk the 1km from the Booker Bay Store.

I understand NSW Waterways are now breath-testing boat operators to control the consumption of liquor while on the water and we would seriously question the need to increase the level of consumption.
