Guides have enrolments

Ettalong Guides have just held enrolments for Emily O'Nions, Rebecca Jamieson, and Gemma Scremin.

All three were in the younger Guide Unit, the Brownies.

Ettalong Guides Support Group has held its annual meeting and the committee has remained the same, with president: Mr Graham Morrell, secretary Mrs Kim Lawther and treasurer Mrs Sue Richter.

An Easter competition was held with baskets of chocolate Easter eggs and rabbits as prizes. The winners were C Koeff of Ettalong, J Goldsworthy a visitor from Queensland and P Seaman of Empire Bay.

Both Ettalong Guide units have been by train to Sydney to visit the Power House Museum.

The Guides have been busy making items for a Mothers Day Stall to be held in May.

They also marched in the Anzac Day march at Woy Woy.

This month, they will be selling Guide biscuits. They will be looking for jobs to do for their Gold for Guides annual effort to support Guiding in NSW.

The units are still collecting corks to recycle.

Ettalong units cater for girls from six and a half to 15 years of age.

The activities are designed to be fun and adventurous, to develop new skills and to provide opportunities to have friends from all over the world.

Women are also being sought as voluntary leaders. No experience is needed. All training is provided.

For further information, contact Ettalong District Leader Mrs Phyllis Thomas on 43412264 or Region Commissioner Kay Blomfield on 4324 1883.
