Australian titles fought at Ettalong
Central Coast boxing enthusiasts will have the opportunity to witness two Australian title events and an International event at the Ettalong Beach War Memorial Club on Friday May 26.
Tipped as Australias next World Champion, the Jeff Fenech-trained Hussien Hussien takes on Thai boxer Daojarasnoy Pitak, a rough and tough walk-up fighter.
Another Fenech-trained boxer, Ian McLeod, will take on Queenslander Brandon Wood for the Australian Middle-Weight Title.
An international heavy weight contest between Sydneys Justin Fortune (who has fought Lennox Lewis) and New Zealand's Joo Chan Boon will be an explosive big man encounter.
Local boy Marc Bargero will take on Victorian champion Heath Stenton who, on his last trip to the coast, had a hard-fought win over Paul Smallman.
Bargero, who now boxes in an orthodox stance, is fighting for his third Australian title and is boxing in outstanding form.
Paul "The Doctor" Smallman, now training and living on the coast, will tussle with Kiwi Joseph Pulo.
Smallman will be very keen on a win as he is currently negotiating with Angelo Hyder and Jeff Fenech to get his career back on track.
Wayne Vassallo takes on Sydneys Jimmy Patt.
Wayne, who knocked out his first professional opponent in 30 seconds, has made an official challenge to Anthony Mundine.
Although only having one pro victory under his belt, Vassallo said that he and Mundine are the same weight so "lets get it on!".
Anthony Mundine has said that he will be there on the night to check Vassallo out and if he's good enough will accept the challenge.
Coincidentally Mundine has vowed to win, by the end of this year, the title that Bargero and Stenton will be contesting on the night.
Angelo Hyder and Jeff Fenech are promoting the fights at the Ettalong Memorial club on May 26.
The night kicks off with four amateur bouts starting at 6:30 pm followed by five professional fights.
Tickets are available from the club.
