School wins bowls tournament

The Umina High School bowls team has won the final of the metropolitan north zone of the NSW Combined High Schools Lawn Bowls Knockout Competition.

The match was played at Umina Beach Bowling Club against Asquith High School.

The match was a triples game and scores were tied at 20 all after 20 ends.

On the last end, Umina scored one shot to win the match.

Umina will now travel to Albury to compete for the State title.

The Umina team is: Darren Morrison, Sharon Harper and Kristy Harper.

The Umina Beach Bowling Club will assist with the accommodation costs associated with Umina High School's attempt to win the state title at Albury.
