Host families wanted

The Australian Institute of International Understanding is looking for Peninsula families to host 15 high school students from Japan this August.

The students are part of a home-stay program where host families invite a student to stay in their home to experience the Australian way of life.

This provides a safe and caring environment for the students to improve their English conversational skills and cultural knowledge.

The students attend language and culture lessons through the week and are free to spend time with their host family at weekends.

The programs of the Australian Institute of International Understanding, a non-profit educational and cultural exchange organisation, aim to teach the youth of the world respect and acceptance of cultures other than their own.

Peninsula residents interested in being part of this cultural exchange and hosting a student in their home may phone 4344 5466 for further information.
