Talk about syllabus

Woy Woy Parents and Citizens (P&C) were pleased to have at their last meeting a special staff guest speaker, Warwick Teasdale, to talk to them.

Mr Teasdale spoke to them on the PH & HPE and peer support syllabus.

The aim of the syllabus is to develop the understanding, skills, values and attitudes needed to achieve active healthy lifestyles.

In doing so, the syllabus will form the basis for students to adopt a responsible and productive role in society.

Peer support is set up through the Peer Support Foundation.

Its focus is personal development and leadership skills for Year 6 students.

Overall it encourages interaction with students over the varying grades.

In these areas, the knowledge that is taught to the children is very broad.

A trivia night will be held on June 3 at 7:30pm.

Tickets are available in the school office.

Several people have offered to become involved as members of the P&C fundraising committee.

They are Vicki Hill, Jenny Laing, Meg Pendrick, Penny Tarrant, Judy Whalley, Rex Parker and Lorene Shaw.

Their assistance is greatly appreciated.

The next meeting will be held June 5 at 7:30pm.
