Gardeners urged to prepare now

Judging for the Gosford City Garden Competition will take place in October this year and publicity officer, Mr Bert Hunter, would like Peninsula gardeners to get involved.

"I'm telling people now, because some plantings will need to take place now in time for the judging," he said.

Mr Hunter said the competition aims to encourage the community, commercial enterprises and public associations to take pride in their city, beautify the district and enable people to enjoy gardening by doing so.

He said sponsors were still sought and help could be given by providing prizes, in kind, sponsorship or money.

Recognition of sponsorship would be given whenever possible, he said.

Entry forms will be available from August 14 with closing date for entries on September 29.
