Money for veterans' care
Peninsula-based community aged care provider, Complete Care, received $35,000 in funding from the Department of Veteran's Affairs earlier this month.
Presented by local Member Jim Lloyd, the money will be used to purchase computer and communications equipment and a vehicle to enhance the already high quality of care the service provides for its clients.
The service is designed to assist elderly residents to remain living independently in their own homes, and currently has 65 clients.
According to manager Vicki Shields: "The Central Coast has a very high percentage of aging residents, many of whom are war veterans.
"This funding from the department is a significant contribution to our administrative costs.
"It will enable Complete Care to deliver a more efficient and personalised level of care to meet our clients' diverse needs.
"We are extremely grateful to Veteran's Affairs for making the funds available."
