Intersection changes defended

Gosford Council traffic consultant Mr Colin Gooley has defended changes to the intersection of Blackwall Rd and Orange Grove Rd.

"Too many cars have been speeding around the left towards Orange Grove Road and with many concealed accesses on that bend there is greater potential for accidents," he said.

"The closure of the left fork will force vehicles to slow down to make the left hand turn.

"It will also keep motorists on the main road system through Blackwall onto Maitland Bay Road instead of taking shortcuts through residential areas.

"As a result of the changes we now have a much improved and safer intersection," he said.
