Roads spending set at $8.3 million

Gosford Council's traffic program will spend $8.3 million on Peninsula works over the next three financial years.

The amount includes State and Federal Government funds.

Bourke Rd between Barrenjoey Rd and Memorial Ave will receive $200,000 worth of works this financial year and a further $177,000 in 2002/03.

Dunban Rd in Woy Woy will receive $300,000 worth of funding next financial year, followed by $150,000 the following year. Ryans Rd in Umina will receive $150,000 worth of work next financial year with Federal Government funds.

Brisbane Avenue will receive $230,000 in Federal funding this financial year.

Stage one of work on Springwood St, Umina, between West St and Bourke St, will receive $200,000 in 2002/3.

Also in Umina, Melbourne Ave, between Carawa St and Hobart Ave, will receive $80,000 worth of works this year, South St will receive $200,000 worth of works this year and Berith St, between the beach and West St, will receive $100,000 worth of works next financial year.

The unsealed sections of Burrawang St and Onslow Ave in Umina will receive $105,000 worth of works between them this financial year.

Bapaume Ave in Umina will receive $60,000 worth of works next financial year.

The roundabout at the Charlton St and Victoria Rd, Woy Woy, will receive $300,000 worth of works from the Roads and Traffic Authority this financial year.

The intersection of Railway St and Ocean Beach Rd in Woy Woy will receive $300,000 worth of funding, with half coming from the RTA and half from Federal Government funds in 2002/3.

A Dunban Rd roundabout on Ocean Beach Rd will receive $500,000 worth of funding this financial year with half funded through the RTA and half through section 94 contributions.

Also, $600,000 will be spent on cycleway projects on the Peninsula over the next three years with a further $100,000 being spent in subsequent years.
