Bowls pair celebrate 80 years

Woy Woy Bowling Club pair Penny and Bob Godding celebrated their 80th birthdays at a party at Woy Woy Leagues Club and raised $1950 for Central Coast Cancer Care in the process.

Fellow club member, Barbara Champion, said over 200 friends of the pair attended the party.

"It was a very enjoyable party," she said.

"Long time friend, Jennifer Green, organised various artists who performed to everyone's delight.

"It was also a family reunion for Penny, as some of her family had not seen each other for 27 years."

Barbara said the pair was presented with a gold medal and an OBE (over bloody eighty) award, which were placed around their necks,

"The whole event was a way of raising money for Penny and Bob's charity," she said.

Guests were asked to make donations to Central Coast Cancer Care in lieu of presents.

Barbara thanked Jack Parkinson and Noel Ashelford for putting the event on video.
