CWA holds art show
The Country Women's Association at Umina Beach held a well-attended art exhibition at the CWA hall last week.
Publicity officer Mrs Clare Wren said about 130 people turned up on the day with quite a number of paintings selling.
The paintings on display were created by students at the Amber Arts studio, Umina Beach, which is run by Peninsula artist Judy Hoste.
The exhibition raised funds for Meals on Wheels, the Salvation Army and CareFlight.
Mrs Wren said the exhibition was "a very happy afternoon" and she thanked all of those involved.
"The Country Women ladies did the handicrafts and the floral art was done by the Umina Beach Garden Club," Mrs Wren said.
"Champagne was provided at cost price by Jeremy Cusack at the Ocean Beach Hotel."
A raffle was drawn at the end of the day with Mrs P Egan picking up first prize of a painting donated by Judy Hoste.
Mrs Webber won second prize of a hair-pack donated by Umina Beach's Hair Anew.
The exhibition was opened by Ms Margaret Christie, the editor of the Country Woman Journal.
