Students watch torch classmate

Woy Woy High "A1" students, Special Education students and two Year 8 classes watched the Paralympic Torch Relay as it went along Blackwall Rd from Bowden Rd to Woy Woy last week.

They reported a great deal of pride and excitement as they watched their fellow student Aaron Hamstra run a leg of the relay.

Another proud moment for the students was during the opening ceremony of the Paralympics, when Year 11 student Luke McTackett took part in the raising of the flag.

Luke is currently on volunteer duties at the Games with the Australian Air Cadets.

The school's SRC, Special Education students and students who participated in the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games will be attending the Paralympics.
