Flood works for Middle Creek

Gosford Council has budgeted $531,000 for flood mitigation works for Middle Creek at Pearl Beach over the next three years.

Of that figure, $354,000 will come from the Department of Water and Land Conservation.

This financial year $150,000 will be spent with $50,000 coming from Council coffers.

Next financial year $189,000 will be spent with $63,000 from Council and the following year will see Council spend $64,000 of the $192,000 put towards works on the creek.

Also on the Peninsula, Council will spend $215,300 over the next two financial years on trunk drainage works in Railway St and Rawson Rd.

The funding coming from section 94s, which are enforced develop contributions, will total $100,000 this financial year with the remainder of $115,300 being spent next financial year.

Patonga will receive $125,000 worth of drainage works in the 2002/03 financial year for Nalya Ave, with the funds being raised through Council's drainage levy.

Cowper Rd in Umina will receive $35,000 of channel works this financial year with money being raised through Council's drainage levy.

Council will also purchase land this financial year with drainage levy funds to enable them to do work at Garnet Rd and Diamond Rd, Pearl Beach and Veron Rd and Dulkara Rd, Woy Woy at a cost of $40,000 and $50,000 respectively.

In the following two financial years, Council will spend $150,000 per year on drainage construction at Veron and Dulkara Rds.
