Library starts for commuters

Rail commuters who have left their book at home will be able to borrow one from Gosford City Library at Woy Woy station.

The library has been successful in receiving a $7435 grant from the Library Council of NSW to pay for a two month trial.

The service will offer commuters paperback books between the hours of 5.30am to 8am, two days a week at the station.

The grant covers the initial set-up costs including a hand-scanner, trolley and salary.

Books from the present collection will be offered.

Council's director of corporate and community services, Mr Chris Gallagher, said if the trial was successful, the service would be continued beyond the trial period.
