Luke and Casey open fifth business

Luke and Casey Cousins, at 22 and 20 respectively, are about to open their fifth business enterprise.

Already they run the STS The Board Centre at Umina, the surf shop at Avoca, the STS Surfboard manufacturing plant and the Central Coast Surf School which provides surfboard and bodyboard lessons at Terrigal, Avoca and Umina Beaches.

Now they plan to open a new surf and skate shop in George Street, Woy Woy, in November.

Umina born and bred, Luke and Casey are close in age to most of their customers, know most of them from school or the beaches and speak the same language.

The beach-side shops carry surf clothing and equipment as their main lines, while the Woy Woy shop will concentrate more on skateboards than surfboards.

They said that because their target market is brand conscious, they carry more than 20 of the most popular brands of boards and clothing at all times.

Their shops are open seven days a week and they believe this has encouraged other shops nearby to do likewise returning life to shopping centres on weekends.

The opening of their Umina store in September last year saw hundreds of people waiting outside for the doors to open.

They are hoping to repeat this in Woy Woy with an opening sale, with free showbags and prizes worth $2000 to be won on the day.

All purchasers' details will go in the barrel for a prize draw which will take place at 5pm on November 4.
