Farewell to Class of 2000
Woy Woy High farewelled its class of 2000 in a special assembly a fortnight ago.
Woy Woy High principal, Ms Carolyn Carter, said the farewell went well.
"This year's Year 12 should all have excellent memories of their last day of school," she said.
"Mr Angles organised the assembly.
"Mr Donald, the year 12 year adviser, gave a very moving heartfelt address and other teachers worked behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly.
"We even had a school band to play the national anthem."
Awards were given out to students who excelled during the year.
The recipients were Danielle Starkey, David Butler, Megan McGreal, Haley Oliver, Craig Bleakney, Nathan Dunn, Shannon Male, Thomas Newlands, Michael Roberts, Matthew Arrua, Aaron Hamstra, Andrew Howard and Susan Sobczak.
The school captains for next year have also been voted in.
The captains for next year are Holly Robertson and Michael Roberts with Lisa Francis and Marty Webster as vice-captains.
Ms Carter said: "All students and staff had the right to vote for our captains at a secret ballot.
"This lets our students actively take part in the democratic process."
The new captains and vice-captains started their duties immediately as this year's captains had relinquished their responsibilities due to HSC examinations.
