First-year subject
Brisbane Water Secondary College has developed a partnership with Ourimbah Campus of the University of Newcastle, which has resulted in the students being able to complete a first-year university subject as part of their HSC.
The subject will count towards a degree if students continue on to university, and would count for one out the 24 units that make up a university degree.
The university is giving scholarships to students accepted into the subject.
"This would look great on a resume," said Woy Woy campus principal Mr David Beattie.
As a student of the university, students are able to access the computer network, do research and borrow books form the library.
