Busy month in junior golf
Everglades Juniors Golfers have had a busy month competing in many events.
Simon Hoyland and Corrina Starkey played in the NSW Junior Mixed Foursomes Championships at the Oaks and won the 36 handicap event with 136 nett on 11.5 handicap.
Corrina Starkey played in the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation International at the Oaks from October 7 to 10, on 18 handicap, won the 18-hole handicap event on the seventh with nett 68 and the four round handicap event with 304 nett in the 17 years girls division.
Everglades Juniors played in the Terrigal Classic.
Timothy Shelton, handicap, 18, won the boys 14 years handicap with nett 64.
Troy McGarritty, handicap 24, was runner-up in the boys 15 years division with nett 63.
In the Toukley Junior Classic, Luke Johnson was defeated by one stroke in the overall event but won the boys 16-17 years scratch trophy with 78.
Daniel Uptin in boys 14-15 years won the scratch runner-up trophy with 83 in the same event.
Luke Johnson playing in his last event as a junior won the club junior championship with a score of 289 and Simon Hoyland was runner-up with 305.
Luke was also runner up in the 'A' Grade Championship to Brian Carmichael who had 286 to be the Everglades 2003 Golf Champion.
