Dune trees cleared

More trees have been cleared from dunes in The Esplanade, Ettalong.

The clearing is opposite the site of a recently-completed dwelling.

The clearing resembles a similar incident just a few hundred metres along the road, almost three years ago.

On that occasion, the site was opposite a recently-completed block of apartments offered for sale by the same real estate agent.

That incident led to debate in Gosford Council about illegal tree clearing to improve water views and to a threat by then mayor Cr Chris Holstein to place a shipping container on the dunes to block the views while trees were regrown.
